Week 1 of School

Hey everyone. Well, we started classes last week. It was really good. I realized, though, that its been a couple years where all I did was sit there and listen, so one day I started dozing off. Dan asked me if I needed to stand and I said I was fine. Then it happened again so I stood the rest of the class. But, since then I’ve stayed wide awake and my focus on what we’ve been talking about.

We also started physical training. The first day we ran about 3km(almost 2 miles I think). Ya, I almost died haha. It was good, except they feed us too well here haha. The next time we ran down to the gorge which was no samll distance down. Got down there, did a few sets of different pushups and crunches. Then ran back up. It was my first time down there(everyone else had been down). On the way up I took a break. The last person went to the left when the path split but I figured they both met up, so I went right. I ended up getting to a place where I couldn’t go anywhere so I had to go all the way back then took the left path. I was so out of it, but this guy had waited for me at the time. I really appreciated it.

Last Friday Dr. Leon started lecturing. We did 3 sessions in the morning, one or two in the afternoon, and one at night. Saturday we did a couple in the morning and he and Phil and Dave prayed over us individually in the afternoon. It seemed that he knew exactly what he needed to pray to God about me without me telling him. It was great. Then Sunday they prayed over us again.

I got so much out of his lectures and want to take his program when I get back to get an associates or bachelors. He makes it so what we pay is only for the course and not really any extras. He has a huge vision. He wants to raise up 1 million disciples. He has currently 100,000 people completing the course. He has been through a lot and it shows. God has given him such an understanding for things and it just encourages me to study as much as I can. The basis of what he taught was about Serventhood and Leadership. Its really changes my views on so many things, realizing that a lot of my life was a mess, I just didn’t recognize it to the extent that I needed to see it.

Well, this week we start diesel mechanics and next week welding. I’m excited to get my hands dirty. Last week we did our bush cooking for 2 nights for dinner and one day for lunch. Our group got first place, but all the groups had some really inventive ideas and great food. It was SOO GOOOOD! Last Wednesday was Mark’s birthday. He’s a youth pastor from Great Britain and him and his wife, Hannah, are here taking AMT. We went to this Indian Oriental restaurant in town. It was so good! There’s this place here called Steers and it has the best ice cream I’ve ever had. We went there after dinner.

Well, thats about it for this week. God has been showing me a lot since being here. A lot about the different cultures of the world, and a lot about who I am. Thank you everyone who read this and for helping me get here. Love you.
